Board OKs permit for convenience store

MINERAL RIDGE -- The Weathersfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a conditional-use permit for a new carryout and drive-through convenience store at 3853 Main St.
The appeals board also instructed the store owner that the new business must conform with township green space requirements.
The store will be on the east side of Main Street (state Route 46) at the corner of Blunt Street.
Already opposite the planned new construction are a Dollar General store and the Farmer's National Bank.
A conditional-use permit is required for any business that is going to sell alcoholic beverages, said Sherri Craver, township zoning inspector. Beer and wine will be sold at the store.
The application was made by SER Enterprises Inc. of Fredericksburg Drive, Boardman.
Sean McFarland, vice president of SER, and company lawyer Douglas Neuman attended the meeting earlier this week to explain to the board the plans for the new store.
It will be SER's fourth in Trumbull County. SER also operates the Highland Food and Dairy on Church Hill Road, Girard; The Pit-N-Git on Robbins Avenue, Niles; and the Girard Expresso Market at 143 E. Liberty St.
