Baltimore trailed 3-2 before sending 13 batters to the plate in the third against Javier Vazquez (13-9) and two relievers. Bigbie had two singles and scored twice, and Roberts had a bunt single and a two-run double. Rodrigo Lopez (12-8) beat New York for the second time in eight days despite allowing five runs and eight hits in 5 2-3 innings. Derek Jeter and Ruben Sierra homered for the Yankees, who began the night 3 1/2 games ahead of second-place Boston in the AL East.
Twins 4, Tigers 1
DETROIT -- Carlos Silva won for the first time in more than a month, and Jacque Jones drove in two runs to lead Minnesota. Silva (11-8) allowed one run and nine hits in six innings, struck out six and walked none for his first victory in seven starts since Aug. 3 against Anaheim. J.C. Romero extended his scoreless streak to 35 2-3 innings, and Joe Nathan finished for his 40th save in 43 chances. Minnesota, heading to its third straight AL Central title, has won three straight and eight of 10. Mike Maroth (10-11) dropped to 0-3 against the Twins this season, allowing four runs, eight hits and four walks in 6 2-3 innings.
Rangers 10, Blue Jays 3
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Ryan Drese pitched seven strong innings, and Kevin Mench homered twice for Texas. Drese (12-8) allowed one run and six hits, struck out seven and walked one. He lost a bid for his first shutout when he allowed Carlos Delgado's solo homer in the seventh, but picked up his eighth win in 11 decisions. Mench has homered in his last three games and has four in 10 at-bats. He extended his career-high home run total to 23. Mench and Mark Teixeira homered in a six-run fourth inning for the Rangers, who had lost nine of their previous 11. Michael Young had four hits, and Rod Barajas and Mench each added three hits for Texas.
NATIONAL LEAGUE

CINCINNATI -- Wily Mo Pena homered for the second straight night, and Cincinnati snapped a four-game losing streak. Adam Dunn stole home on a double steal in the fifth inning for the Reds. Cincinnati starter Josh Hancock (4-2) went six innings, allowing seven hits, including three solo homers, and one walk with three strikeouts. Danny Graves picked up his 38th save in 47 opportunities. Marlins 7, Cubs 0Cubs 11, Marlins 2
CHICAGO -- Florida returned to Wrigley Field 11 months after winning two straight at Wrigley Field to take the NL pennant and split a doubleheader with the Chicago Cubs. Carl Pavano pitched a complete game shutout in the opener for the Marlins, while Moises Alou and Aramis Ramirez hit back-to-back homers to lead the Cubs in the second game. Chicago started the day a half-game behind Houston and San Francisco in the wild-card race and the defending World Series champion Marlins were two back. Pavano (17-5) allowed seven hits in his second shutout this season, winning his fifth straight start. Kerry Wood (7-7) gave up six runs -- four earned -- and 11 hits in six innings. In the second game, Mark Prior (5-4) gave up two runs and nine hits in a season-high eight innings, struck out eight and walked none. Neifi Perez had four hits and Paul Bako three.
Braves 4, Expos 3
ATLANTA -- Johnny Estrada hit a three-run homer and the Braves shook off the arrest of Rafael Furcal to snap a three-game losing streak. Furcal spent much of the day in jail after being arrested on drunken driving charges. He finally arrived at Turner Field about 1 1/2 hours before the game but didn't play. The Braves avoided their longest losing streak of the season, despite being out hit 13-6, and extended their NL East lead to 7 1/2 games over Florida. The Marlins split a doubleheader with the Chicago Cubs. John Thomson (11-8) left after the sixth with a 4-2 lead. Antonio Alfonseca pitched a scoreless seventh and John Smoltz got the final six outs, earning his 37th save. Marcus Giles also homered for Atlanta.
Phillies 9, Mets 5
NEW YORK -- Jason Michaels went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs to lead Philadelphia past New York. Placido Polanco also homered and Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run single for the Phillies, who got another dominant effort from their bullpen to win their fourth straight and seventh in eight games. David Bell had three hits, including two doubles, and reached base four times. David Wright, Richard Hidalgo and Jeff Keppinger homered off Brett Myers for the Mets, who lost for the 17th time in 19 games. With the score tied at 5 in the seventh, Michaels hit a two-run shot off Ricky Bottalico (3-2) to give Philadelphia the lead for good. Todd Jones (10-5) pitched a perfect sixth for the win.
Padres 10, Rockies 4
DENVER -- Khalil Greene and Ryan Klesko each hit three-run homers, and the San Diego Padres took advantage of another shaky outing by Colorado's bullpen. Starter Brian Lawrence kept San Diego close and Greene provided the big blow in the seventh inning, helping the Padres to stay close in the NL wild-card race. San Diego entered the night 2 1/2 games behind San Francisco and Houston. For Colorado, it was another quality outing by a starter and another terrible one by its bullpen. Starter Shawn Estes pitched well enough to win, only to see the bullpen throw it away for the third straight night. Tim Harikkala (6-4) walked the first batter he faced in the seventh inning, then gave up a three-run homer to Greene that put the Padres up 6-4. Colorado has lost two of its past three games after the bullpen blew a late-inning lead.
