A summary of crime activity in Boardman and Poland:
BOARDMAN
Sept. 1
Criminal damage: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy was arrested but not charged after a Youngstown man discovered his truck had been damaged while it was parked at a Speedway gas station, 649 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Bad check: An employee at Cochran Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave., reported receiving a $467 counterfeit check.
Theft: An employee at Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road, discovered $1,508 worth of compact discs, DVDs and accessories were missing.
Theft: A Wellsville woman reported her son's wallet and Ohio driver's license stolen while he was at Cinemark Movies 8, 469 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A boy, 10, and a woman, 31, both from Boardman, were arrested but not charged after two shirts, a bottle of perfume and a hooded shirt were stolen from Kaufmann's in the Southern Park Mall.
Auto theft: A Youngstown man noticed his 2003 Pontiac Aztec stolen from the Southern Park Mall parking lot.
Criminal damage: Police arrested a 24-year-old man at his residence in the 60 block of Stanton Avenue on a criminal-damage charge after two people -- one in the 100 block of Lemans Drive and the other in the 100 block of Shields Road -- reported someone shot at some buildings. An air-conditioning unit and two window panes were damaged.
Theft: An employee at Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, alleged two 50-year-old Beaver, Pa., women took seven cards, four bowls, two mugs, two candles and other items from the business. Both women were arrested, but neither had been charged.
Theft: An employee at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, alleged a Youngstown woman, 31, stole 15 packs of cigarettes, 14 packs of batteries, four packages of meat and five other items. The loss came to more than $200.
Attempted burglary/criminal damage: An employee at Stomping Grounds, 6418 Market St., reported someone damaged a rear door in an attempt to break in.
Sept. 2
Arrest: A 23-year-old Boardman man was charged with two counts of contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child. Beaver Township police reported the location of two juveniles who had been reported missing in Boardman.
Theft: An employee at Cigarette Outlet, 6009 South Ave., reported being defrauded out of $507.
Theft: An employee at The Vindicator, 107 Vindicator Square, Youngstown, reported a $500 newspaper box and $30 stolen at Sunrise Deli & amp; Catering, 8585 South Ave.
Forgery: A Columbiana woman reported her personal information had been fraudulently used, causing more than 50 magazine subscriptions to be delivered to her at the YMCA, 45 McClurg Road.
Theft: A woman discovered a $350 video camera, a 14-karat necklace and a men's gold ring stolen from her apartment in the 4400 block of South Avenue.
Forgery: A Hermitage, Pa., woman reported her automated teller machine/Visa card had been used at the Southern Park Mall without her consent. She found three suspicious purchases totaling $289 were made.
Theft: Police arrested, but did not charge, a 20-year-old Campbell woman after a pack of baby shirts, a set of baby washcloths, a pair of baby jeans and a baby outfit were stolen from Burlington Coat Factory, 461 Boardman-Canfield Road. The loss was about $36.
Sept. 3
Theft: A Youngstown man reported that he returned to Fashion Bug, 391 Boardman-Poland Road, after realizing he left 40 CDs, 10 Sony PlayStation games, four notebooks and a portable CD player behind. He found that the items had been stolen.
Theft/criminal damage: A Youngstown man reported $100 in damage to his vehicle's door lock, and that a $6,000 floor sander and a table saw had been removed, while the car was in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Police arrested a 24-year-old man at his residence in the 7400 block of Becky Court on one felony count of theft. A Boardman woman reported her mother was the victim of a scam involving three checks totaling $1,010.
Theft: A 20-year-old Youngstown woman was arrested but not charged after 12 clothing items valued at $73 were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: An employee at the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall discovered $1,081 missing from the business.
Criminal mischief: A woman noticed damage to her mailbox near her home in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue.
Theft: An employee at the J.C. Penney store alleged a New Castle, Pa., woman, 29, took 10 articles of clothing valued at $221. The woman was arrested, but no charges had been filed.
Theft/forgery: A Poland woman reported nine of her aunt's checks totaling $4,100 stolen from the aunt's home in the 4200 block of Chester Drive had also been forged.
Criminal damage: A man discovered $200 in damage was done to aluminum siding on his home in the 60 block of Stanton Avenue.
Auto theft: A woman reported her 1995 Buick LeSabre stolen from a parking lot near her residence in the 7400 block of West Boulevard.
Sept. 4
Theft: An employee at Rondinelli Tuxedo Rental, 845 Boardman-Poland Road, called police after discovering a $650 men's tuxedo missing.
Assault: A Canfield man reported that, as he delivered mail at a residence in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard, he was struck in the back by a plastic pellet. He was not injured.
Theft: An employee at McDonald's restaurant, 15 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported a $300 cellular phone stolen while she was at work.
Criminal mischief: A Boardman woman discovered her vehicle's rear window and front arm rest had been damaged while she was at a residence in the 6600 block of Applewood Boulevard. Damage was estimated at $800.
Theft: Someone took a $13 gold wristwatch from Target.
Theft: A Poland woman noticed someone had removed a $100 For Rent sign posted near a residence in the 50 block of Wildwood Drive.
Assault: A Boardman man told police he was assaulted while he was at The Mocha House, 7141 Tiffany Blvd. He was not hurt.
Theft: A man reported $7,000 and three credit cards stolen from his home in the 60 block of Indianola Road.
Burglary: A man told police someone sliced a screen before breaking into his apartment in the 400 block of Rockdale Avenue. A $150 Sony PlayStation system, eight PlayStation games, a memory card and a DVD wire were stolen.
Theft: A man discovered a bottle of medications stolen from his residence in the 7300 block of West Boulevard.
Sept. 5
Auto theft: A man in the 30 block of Shields Road reported his 1994 Pontiac Sunbird stolen.
Criminal damage: A man reported $400 in damage to his front door, as well as damage to a storm door screen, at his home in the 900 block of Afton Avenue.
Theft: After four pieces of jewelry and articles of clothing valued at a total of $218 were stolen from Kaufmann's, a 62-year-old Sharpsville, Pa., woman was arrested, although not charged.
Theft: A Youngstown man returned to his car parked at Wal-Mart and noticed a $200 CD player had been removed.
Drugs: A Youngstown man, 18, was cited after police say he had a small bag of suspected marijuana in his vehicle stopped near South and Moyer avenues.
Sept. 6
Burglary: While investigating a possible domestic situation at a residence in the 1800 block of Lemont Drive, police discovered someone had forcibly entered the home through a rear door.
Arrests: A man, 26, and a woman, 22, both from Boardman, were arrested at a home in the 400 block of Rockdale Avenue on charges of child endangering. Another man nearby called police after noticing a juvenile wandering through a parking lot unattended.
Arrest: A 22-year-old Youngstown man was arrested near Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard on a warrant charging him with domestic violence. He also faced three counts of possession of drugs after police say he admitted having drugs in his right sock. Officers later discovered two bags of suspected marijuana and a bag containing suspected cocaine.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 15-year-old Boardman girl after a woman in the 7100 block of Glendale Avenue reported being a victim. She was not injured.
Arrest: After conducting a drug investigation, police arrested a 22-year-old Youngstown man at a residence in the 1900 block of Mathews Road. The suspect was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on a charge of noncompliance.
Arrest: A Poland man, 21, was arrested near Oles Avenue and Sheridan Road and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. A man in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle reported someone entered his vehicle, as well as other cars in the area.
Possible theft: A man in the 4600 block of Rush Circle discovered his wallet lost or stolen in Boardman Township.
Theft: A man in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle discovered someone unzipped his vehicle's rear convertible window, broke in and removed a $100 in-dash CD player.
Arrests: Police arrested a girl, 16, and a woman, 30, both from East Liverpool, in the Jo-Ann Etc. parking lot, 7386 Market St. Charges included theft, possession of criminal tools and receiving stolen property after an employee at Babies & quot;R & quot; Us The Baby Superstore, 1240 Doral Drive, told police shoplifters left without paying for 56 articles of clothing valued at $863. Officers say the suspects had numerous empty bags used to conceal merchandise stolen from other stores. Another East Liverpool woman, 35, also was arrested, but no charges had been filed against her.
Recovered property: Police recovered a stolen 2004 Pontiac Sunfire in the Wagon-Wheel Motel parking lot, 7015 Market St.
Sept. 7
Theft: An employee at Komar Plumbing Inc., 49 Roche Way, discovered a $200 reciprocating saw, a $600 power vise, a drill, copper fittings, a set of dyes for a vise and a hand drill missing from a company-owned truck.
Criminal mischief: An employee at All Star Insurance Agency Inc., 4130 Market St., noticed a basement window had been broken, resulting in $150 worth of damage.
Theft: A Poland man reported a radio stolen while he was at the YMCA.
Theft: A woman in the 50 block of Banbury Drive discovered a Social Security check and another check missing from her mailbox.
Theft: A Boardman woman reported a $20 check and a bottle of perfume stolen from her vehicle parked at The Meadows of Boardman, 500 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Domestic violence: A 14-year-old Youngstown boy was arrested at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, after police say they saw another Youngstown boy, 12, get assaulted by a family member. The victim was not hurt.
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Carter Circle reported a miter saw, an aluminum coil, a hammer drill and another drill stolen from his home. The man's loss was about $1,485.
POLAND
Sept. 2
Assault: Police arrested a 20-year-old Poland man near Center Road and U.S. Route 224 on an assault charge. The suspect's girlfriend alleged he picked her up by her arms, placed her against a wall and struck her in the face during an argument at his parents' residence in the 300 block of Edna Street.
Sept. 4
Vandalism: A man discovered his van's rear window shattered while it was parked in his driveway in the 300 block of South Main Street.
Sept. 5
Arrests: A New Castle man and a Pittsburgh man, both 21, were cited on disorderly-conduct charges after police say two men had been urinating near the Poland Fire Department building, 111 S. Main St.
