Poland hands Canfield first loss

CANFIELD -- Ashley Conger scored 17 points and had 12 assists to lead Poland High past Canfield, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22, in a Metro Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday.
Dee Muransky had 13 kills and five blocks for the Bulldogs (2-3, 1-2 MAC), while Doni Muransky had 11 kills and 13 digs.
Stephanie Jarvis led the Cardinals (6-1, 3-1) with 12 kills and two blocks, while Makenzie Kline scored seven points with four aces. Jackie Nentwick had seven points, two aces, six digs and five kills.

HOWLAND -- Brittany Kelly scored six points, with two aces, four kills, 19 assists and five blocks for the Tigers (6-2, 2-1 MAC).
Jaime Kelly had two points, 10 kills, one assist, three blocks and seven digs.
Taylor Summerfield had 16 points, three aces, five kills, two assists and a block.
Megan Geiger led the Aviators with nine points.

BOARDMAN -- April Melquist led the Spartans (3-3, 1-1 Federal League) with 12 kills and five aces. Amy Palowsky had eight kills.
Casey Barton led Perry (6-0, 2-0) with 16 kills and 10 blocks.

BERLIN CENTER -- Rachael Hernan scored 29 points, with seven aces and five kills, to pace the Blue Devils (4-2).
Leta Lenhart had two points and 12 assists.
Kara Pecchia led the Eagles (1-1) with four points, two aces and seven digs.

NEWTON FALLS -- Megan Kay paced the Leopards (3-3, 1-2 Trumbull Athletic Conference) with 29 points and five aces.
Amy Markowitz had nine kills and eight blocks, and Emily Hall had 12 assists.
For the Tigers (0-4, 0-3), Brittany Hall collected 15 points and three aces.
Molly Lenarcic had 10 kills and six blocks while Brandi Lance had 14 assists.

BROOKFIELD -- Lindsay Whetzel collected 16 kills and 15 digs to lead the Bulldogs (2-1, 2-1 TAC).
Also pacing the Lakeview attack was Michelle Antonelli (35 assists) and Kelly Moore (15 points).
For the Warriors (4-3, 1-1), Morgan Bonekovic had 14 blocks and 15 kills.
Rachel Pasquerilla had 40 assists and 16 points while Katie Gething scored 17 points and had 22 digs.

CHAMPION -- Chelsea Morrison led the Indians with 17 kills. Erin Stevens scored 11 points and had 35 assists.
Heather Pegg led the Golden Flashes (1-4, 0-3 TAC) with 17 kills and four blocks.
Andrea Armintrout had 13 points. Chentel Greathouse had 22 assists.
