MIAMI Titans at Dolphins moved to Saturday

With Hurricane Ivan lurking, the NFL took action to beat the storm.
MIAMI (AP) -- Hurricane Ivan has changed the Tennessee Titans' game plan for their season opener in Miami, now scheduled for Saturday.
The Titans want to beat both the storm and the Dolphins.
"We're just trying to get in, get the job done and get the heck out," running back Chris Brown said.
With Ivan expected to hit Florida, officials decided Thursday to play the game 24 hours earlier than originally planned. Kickoff will still be at 1 p.m.
"Our first question was how we could make this safe for everyone," Dolphins president Eddie Jones said. "Our first concern is for families of our players and staff and, of course, being in Miami, for our fans."
As the Dolphins prepared to practice Thursday, quarterbacks A.J. Feeley and Sage Rosenfels sat in the locker room and studied a laptop showing the projected path of the hurricane.
Ivan could reach southern Florida as soon as Sunday, forecasters said.
"Here we are going into the middle of a Category 5 hurricane," Titans tackle Fred Miller said. "The thing could speed up, slow down -- you just don't know, and it's unpredictable. I'm definitely going to have a car rented just in case. I'm not going to sit in a Category 5 hurricane."
Proposed changes
The Dolphins and Titans discussed moving the game to other sites, including Nashville, but decided to change the date instead.
For the Dolphins, the switch is the latest twist in a preseason that included the retirement of running back Ricky Williams and worries about Hurricane Frances.
Last week's storm prompted talk of a player boycott when the Dolphins were forced to play an exhibition game in New Orleans against their wishes as Frances threatened Florida.
"We're bulletproof at this point," coach Dave Wannstedt said. "There's nothing that anyone can do or say that will hurt us. Everyone knows what we've been through."
The Titans planned to arrive in South Florida on Friday afternoon, 24 hours earlier than originally scheduled. Coach Jeff Fisher said his staff anticipated a possible change in the date of the game several days ago.
"This is the best for everybody involved," he said. "Logistically everything works out."
