TELEVISION Q & amp;A

Q. What's happened to Chuck Barris of "The Gong Show"? Do you think GSN or another station might show it again? -- C.W., Dallas
A. The former game show host has been on a book tour this summer promoting a sequel to his autobiography, "Bad Grass Never Dies: More Confessions of a Dangerous Mind." He's also re-releasing an earlier tome, "You and Me, Babe," that has been out of print. Barris' anything-but-ordinary life was the subject of the George Clooney-directed movie "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" in 2002. A GSN publicist says there are no plans to add "The Gong Show" to its game show lineup.
Q. Can you tell me more about Phil Gordon, from Bravo's "Celebrity Poker Showdown"? -- J.H., California
A. Phil Gordon is a world-class poker champion, adventure traveler and author. He ditched the high-tech industry in 1997 after a lucrative buyout of his company gave him the resources to travel the world. He undertook a solo world tour in which he visited 50 countries on six continents. While on break from his commentator job on "Celebrity Poker Showdown" (which will return for a fourth round in the fall), Gordon has undertaken "the greatest road trip in sports history," to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation.
Q. I was wondering whether the series "Charmed," on The WB, is coming out on DVD anytime soon. I look for it every time I go out and purchase a new DVD. "Charmed" is one of my favorite programs. -- D.G., via e-mail
A. "Charmed" is one of the most requested series for DVD release. But don't look for it anytime soon. Paramount won't get home video rights to "Charmed" before the end of 2005. Meanwhile the series makes its seventh season debut Sunday.
