SOCCER Boardman beats Massillon Perry



Warren JFK and Crestview posted shutouts.
BOARDMAN -- Jordan Winters, Dan Shobel and Nick Antonucci scored goals Tuesday as the Boardman High varsity soccer team defeated Massillon Perry, 3-1.
Goalkeeper Rob Rinninger, a senior, made four saves for Boardman (2-2-1, 1-0-1 Federal League).
The Spartans outshot Perry, 13-2. Sam Stoll and Jeremy Winters had assists for Boardman.
Kirby Kolumbur scored on a penalty kick for Perry.
Warren JFK 5, United 0
WARREN -- Kyle Schimley and Brian Cullivan each had two goals for the Eagles (3-1-1) who opened a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Justin Spangler also scored and Jeff Jenkins assisted three times.
Brian Wolnk saved five shots in goal for Kennedy. Spencer Wizlicka had 11 saves in goal for United (2-2).
Crestview 7, Chaney 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- James Frost collected three goals and two assists for the Rebels (3-1-1).
Scoring one goal apiece were Cory Leeson, Mitchell See, Jordan Vignon and Caitlin Wiley.
Chaney (1-3-1) trailed just 2-0 at the break.
Canfield 1, Howland 1
HOWLAND -- Canfield senior Scott Siddal scored the first goal on a header with an assist from senior Ryan Connors.
Howland junior Tim Lee scored off an assist from senior Dante Fiorino.
Canfield's goalie junior Mike Musilli had 16 saves while Howland's keeper sophomore Paul Burley had seven.
Poland 3, Salem 3
SALEM -- Paul Rogers, Max Pearce and Dain Malaniak scored for Poland.
Champion 3, Hubbard 1
HUBBARD -- John Emery scored two goals for the Eagles (3-0-2, 2-0 TAC). Chris Palm scored the other goal. Max Brugler had two assists and Brett Sulonen had one.
A.J. Pulice scored Hubbard's (1-3, 1-1) goal on an assist from Anthony Tombo had one assists.
Champion had 14 shots on goal and Hubbard five.
Hubbard's goalkeeper Aaaron Severa had eight saves.
Badger 4, Lordstown 1
KINSMAN -- Senior Rich Duffy scored his first two goals of the year and Josh Shreves and David Gordon each had one goal for the Braves (3-0).
Ryan Kaczowka scored for Lordstown (2-2).
West Branch 6, Carrollton 0
BELOIT -- Shane Young, Aaron Cronin, Tim McCracken, William Wallace, Joe Starkey and Marcus Trvex each had a goal for the Warriors.
West Branch (3-2-1) took more shots, 32-4.

NEWTON FALLS -- Rachel Crafton scored twice in the first half as Hubbard defeated Newton Falls 2-0 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Christina Adams and Natalie Bata assisted for the Eagles.
Ursuline 2, Warren JFK 0
WARREN -- Mariah Snyder and Hannah Snyder scored for the Irish )1-3, 1-2 Steel Valley Conference).
Ursuline out-shot JFK (3-2-1, 1-1), 14-8.
Badger 8, Maplewood 1
MECCA -- Senior Tessa Bonar scored a season-high four goals as the Braves (4-0) jumped on top 5-1 at the break.
Hanna Miller scored three goals and Cayla Arnold added another for Badger.
Tori Spencer scored for the Rockets (2-2).
