HALL OF FAME | Campbell Memorial
Al Centofante -- A 1928 graduate of Campbell Memorial, Centofante was a teacher in the Campbell Schools for 36 years. He spent 25 years as a coach of almost every sport in Campbell, including serving as Memorial High's baseball coach. Centofante also organized the pony league and was a regional umpire. He was inducted into the Baseball Old Timers Hall of Fame in 1986.
Tom Ciccolelli -- A 1973 Campbell Memorial graduate, Ciccolelli was an outstanding baseball player for the Red Devils. He was the first Memorial High player to compete in the Ohio High School East-West All-Star Baseball Series held at Ohio State University.
John "Cos" Costantino -- A 1948 Campbell Memorial graduate, Costantino was a standout center for the Red Devils' football team. A Korean War veteran, Costantino was a teacher and coach in Campbell, and served as Memorial High's athletic director and ticket manager until 1997.
Patsy Cua -- Cua was a quick-moving halfback for the Memorial High football team who could break through the line before many opposing teams were able to react. He was one of the youngest players on the team in 1950, and graduated at age 17 in 1954. In his senior season, Cua's teammates voted him as the best offensive back, and he also made the All-Steel Valley Conference first team.
Albert Gerlick -- A 1956 graduate of Memorial High, Gerlick was a formidable two-way tackle and placekicker for the Red Devils football team, and made the All-SVC first team as a senior. He went on to play for Syracuse University. He returned to Campbell to teach and coach, and served as Memorial's football coach for three seasons.
Mack Gilchrist -- A tough player for the Memorial High football team, Gilchrist was selected to the All-SVC first team as a junior and senior. He played four years of football before graduating in 1968. Gilchrist also played basketball and also ran track for Memorial.
Alfonso Kelley -- A 1961 Memorial High graduate, Kelley played basketball for the Red Devils and was a consistently-leader scorer. He served as an assistant basketball coach for Memorial when it won the Ohio Division III state championship. Kelley also was a collegiate football official.
Louis Konya -- A former two-way tackle for the Memorial High football team, Konya graduated in 1937 and went on to play football for John Carroll University. He spent 38 years teaching in the Campbell School system, 28 of them also as a football and basketball coach. He was an assistant football coach for Memorial. Konya later was selected to the John Carroll hall of fame.
Bob "Sonny" Lyskowski -- A 1951 Campbell Memorial graduate, Lysowski was a starting halfback and defensive back for the Red Devils' football team. In his senior season, he was a team co-captain and made the All-SVC team. Lysowski also played in the Mahoning County All-Star Game. He also played basketball and golf.
Ralph Misko -- A three-year letterman in golf for Memorial High, Misko was a member of the Red Devils' first SVC championship golf team in 1966. He also lettered in football and basketball at Memorial before graduating in 1967.
Tony Pacella -- A 1957 Memorial High graduate and football player, Pacella is being recognized for the many years of coaching in the Campbell Schools, especially in the sport of golf. He served as Memorial's golf coach for 24 years, and he also coached the school's first girls golf team in 1977. In all, Pacella had 28 years as a teacher and coach. He also was an outstanding golfer
Jim Sferra -- As a Memorial High athletics contributor, Sferra has been a continued source of support to the school's athletes. A member of the Gridiron organization, he helped the club to increase membership over a 15-year period, Sferra also served as chairman of the club's annual fund-raiser. With Sferra's support, the club has been able to help out many Campbell teams.
Ken Tirpack -- A 1988 Memorial High graduate, Tirpak was a four-year starter and letterman in baseball. He also made the All-Mahoning Valley Conference team all four years. Tirpak went on to become a standout baseball player at Ohio State, and still ranks high on the Buckeyes' career statistical list. He currently does some scouting for the Cleveland Indians.
Mike Vavlas -- A 1954 Memorial graduate, Vavlas was a tough guard for the Red Devils' football team, and was a first-team All-SVC pick as a junior and senior. Owner of "Mike's Place," he has been a strong supporter of Campbell athletes, and sponsored an annual corn roast for many years.
