XSTRUTHERS -- The exchange of nuptial vows took place July 31 during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony at Holy Trinity Church as Stacey D. Medvec, 260 Elm Court, and Carl B. Newyear, 4478 River St., Willoughby, were united in marriage by the Rev. William Petrunak.
A reception was held later that day at the Maronite Center, Youngstown, to honor the daughter of John Sr. and Diane Medvec of the Struthers address, and the son of Albert Newyear of Sagamore Hills and Constance Newyear of Willoughby.
Beaded embroidery enhanced the bride's halter-style, A-line gown of white organza, and it featured a split back and cathedral train.
Wearing light-blue gowns were the honor attendant, Teresa Medvec, and the bridesmaids, Christine Medvec, Alissa Duchek, Sera Granato and Ellen Newyear. The flower girl was Alexa Newyear.
Best man was Reid Young, and groomsmen were Daniel Medvec, John Medvec Jr., Christopher Stone and Shawn Pityk. Ring bearer was John Medvec III.
A graduate of Kent State University, Salem Campus, with an associate degree in radiologic technology, the bride is a radiologic technologist with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Shadyside, Pittsburgh.
The groom is director of bands with Beaver Area School District, Beaver, Pa. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in music education.
The couple have postponed their honeymoon until December. They live in Cranberry Township, Pa.
