PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP Youngstown Christian shut out in debut
BOWERSTON -- Conotton Valley High School scored 25 points in the first quarter and ruined Youngstown Christian's football debut 47-0 Saturday.
Conotton Valley rushed for 308 yards and passed for 30.
The Eagles were limited to 25 yards rushing and 15 passing.
Southington 41, Sebring 20
SOUTHINGTON -- Zack Stalnaker rushed for 107 yards on 12 carries, which included a touchdown run of 43 yards, and he also returned a punt 48 yards for a score to spark the Wildcats (1-1).
Southington's J.P. Barco caught TD passes of 3 and 47 yards from Jimmy Baugher.
Josh Brooks rushed for 154 yards on 15 carries and scored touchdowns of 45 and 25 yards for the Trojans.
Jordan Smith of the Trojans (0-2) blocked a punt and returned it 25 yards for a TD.
Josh Hines gained 69 yards on nine carries. Sebring was 0 of 9 passing, with three interceptions.
Rayen 8, Ravenna 7
RAVENNA -- Rayen School freshman quarterback Salvador Battles scored a 3-yard touchdown with 1 minute, 30 seconds remaining as the Tigers edged Ravenna late Friday.
Junior tailback Dwayne Smith of the Tigers (1-1), who rushed for 104 yards, ran in a two-point conversion for the deciding points.
Troy Rice caught a 57-yard pass from Battles to set up the score on the 3-yard line.
