Mohawk seniors mark 25th year



BESSEMER, Pa. -- Mohawk Senior Citizens met Aug. 25 at St. Anthony CCD Hall for its 25th anniversary banquet.
The Rev. Nickolas M. Mastrangelo of Munhall, Pa., formerly of St. Anthony Church, spoke about the organization. He is one of the founders of the group. Others are the Rev. Dr. Donald Aull of Second Presbyterian Church, New Castle, Pa., formerly of Presbyterian Church of Bessemer; the Rev. DuWayne Winters, who was from First Covenant Church of Bessemer; and the Rev. Carroll Hayworth, formerly of Bessemer Assembly of God.
Vlad Klishnevich, an exchange student from Russia, talked about his homeland. Birthdays and anniversaries were observed, and a memorial service was held.
Lois Stambul and Elsie Clark were in charge of flowers and door prizes.
Election
Members elected new officers Aug. 11. They are Millie Musitano, president; Betty Rosse, vice president; Fulvia Caimano, secretary; Twila Stanley, assistant secretary; Lois Bryan, treasurer; and Steve Helvak, assistant treasurer.
Mary Silhanek is tour director and program chairwoman; Irene Hedberg and Martha Samsa, lunch contact; Martha Samsa and Millie Musitano, kitchen; Twila Stanley and Elsie Clark, chaplains; Fred Tasota and Sam Samsa, social games; and Irene Hedberg, Mary Percic, Millie Musitano, Fulvia Caimno, Betty Rosse, Mary Silhanek and Madaline Gagliano, decorating.
Meetings are at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at St. Anthony.
