MLS ROUNDUP Saturday's games

Crew 3, Galaxy 1
COLUMBUS -- Ross Paule tallied his first career hat trick and the Columbus Crew extend its team-record unbeaten streak to 11 games. The three goals gave Paule a team-high seven for the Crew, which hasn't lost since June 26. Paule put the Crew (8-5-10) ahead in the 26th minute, tucking in a shot amid a crowd of players in front of the Los Angeles goal. He scored again 15 minutes later after gathering a rebound off Galaxy goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. The midfielder completed his hat trick with a penalty kick in the 68th minute, capitalizing on a handball call against Galaxy forward Arturo Torres. Joseph Ngwenya scored his fourth goal for the Galaxy (9-7-8) in extra time after his header hit the post and deflected back to him in front of a wide-open net.
Earthquakes 1, Revolution 0
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Former New England forward Chris Brown scored his second goal of the season. San Jose (9-7-7) snapped a 266-minute scoreless streak when Brown headed in Ian Russell's cross in the 48th minute. The Earthquakes played without four starters because of national team call-ups. San Jose's Landon Donovan and Brian Ching each scored in the United States' 2-0 win over El Salvador in a World Cup qualifier held at Gillette Stadium before the MLS game. The Revolution (5-10-9) had their chances, but San Jose goalie Jon Conway, making just his third start of the season, earned his first shutout by making great saves on Taylor Twellman in the 23rd minute and Brian Kamler in the 69th. In the 81st minute, Twellman's point-blank shot hit the post.
