Baldwin-Wallace 27, Allegheny 14
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Brandon Hedges rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns to lead Baldwin-Wallace.
Hedges, who carried the ball 21 times, scored on a 38-yard run in the first quarter, and on runs of 16 and 28 yards in the fourth quarter.
Baldwin-Wallace (1-0) also scored on a 10-yard pass from Mike DiAngelo to Nate Wilder in the second quarter. DiAngelo completed 17 of 29 passes for 170 yards.
Allegheny (0-1) scored its first points on the last play of the first half on a 35-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Savage to Dallas Robinson. Savage also scored the Gators' other touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Savage completed 17 of 31 passes for 195 yards. He also led the Gators with 92 yards rushing on 16 carries.
Walsh 41, Ohio Dominican 0
CANTON -- The Cavaliers scored two touchdowns in the first minute of play as Ohio Dominican played its first football game in school history.
Linebacker Allen Reddick intercepted on the second play of the game and returned the theft for a 33-yard interception.
On the kickoff Daryll Lyons recovered a fumble and ran 23 yards for a score and a 14-0 lead.
Quarterback Dan Kane ran for a 1-yard touchdown to make it 21-0, still in the first quarter.
The Mideast Mid-States Football Association game was played at Fawcett Stadium.
In the second quarter Chase Hostetler ran for two 1-yard touchdowns as the Cavaliers made it 34-0 at the half.
West Liberty 39, Geneva 14
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Jay Gullion completed 17 of 25 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns in the season opener for each team.
Josh Mullen rushed 16 times for 56 yards to lead Geneva, while quarterback Justin Sciarro completed 14 of 23 passes for 215 yards and two scores.
West Liberty took an early 15-0 lead, but Geneva closed the gap to 15-7 when Sciarro hit Ricky Schultz with a 66-yard touchdown aerial.
After West Liberty went up 22-7, Geneva made it 22-14 on a 7-yard completion from Sciarro to Schultz.
Carnegie Mellon 44, Hiram 0
HIRAM -- Twelve different ballcarriers combined to rush 59 times for 290 yards and five touchdowns, leading Carnegie Mellon to the shutout.
For Hiram, Tim Anderson ran 21 times for 67 yards and Max Kravitz hit on 14 of 27 passes for 90 yards.
After C-M took a 17-0 lead at the break, Joseph Hurley scored on runs of 4 and 15 yards to make it 30-0 in the third quarter. Hurley ran 11 times, gaining 69 total yards.
Grove City 54, Manchester 14
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Aaron Margo set a school record with a 94-yard interception return for a touchdown as the Golden Eagles won their third straight season opener.
It was the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
After Manchester went ahead 7-0, Grove City scored 27 straight points, including scoring runs of 8, 3 and 27 yards by Brandon McGlothlin.
Ohio Northern 31, Westminster 0
ADA -- Corey Minnfield competed 8 of 17 passes for 158 yards and three touchdowns to lead Ohio Northern.
Minnfield threw TD passes of 11 yards to Rob Dellaposta, 33 yards to Zach Weber and 10 yards to Terry Summers.
The Polar Bears took control early in the first when Minnfield connected with Dellaposta for a score and then Wes Hostetler got an interception 26 seconds later.
Hostetler ran the interception back 27 yards to the Westminster 7, and Adam Quirk threw a TD pass to Greg Evilsizor to make it 14-0. Ohio Northern led 21-0 at the half.
Scott Froelich had 19 carries for 88 yards for Westminster, which managed just 199 yards of total offense.
Franklin & amp; Marshall 35, Bethany 7
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Scott Stephan ran for 149 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Franklin & amp; Marshall.
Junior fullback Mike Doyle led the Bison with 45 yards on nine carries and Milton Joyner caught four passes for 40 yards.
Nazih Banna completed seven of 14 passes for 63 yards for Bethany.
Wis.-Platteville 40, Thiel 14
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Brent Nelson threw four touchdowns to lead the Wisconsin-Platteville attack.
Nelson was 14-of-22 for 254 yards for Wis.-Platteville (1-0). In the second quarter, he connected with Derek Hoff on an 11-yard pass and with Kent Brown on a 33-yard pass. He threw a 30-yard pass to Dan Holz in the third quarter and a 20-yard pass to Joe Danielson in the fourth quarter.
After Thiel failed to score on its first possession, Ryan Munz led the Wis.-Platteville Pioneers on a 74-yard scoring drive, finishing with a 10-yard pass to Brian Gallick.
Darrell Satterfield was 10-of-22 with two interceptions for the Tomcats and completed a 2-yard pass to Dane Haskins with 6:45 remaining in the fourth quarter. Thiel's first score came on Justin Kubin's 1-yard run in the second quarter.
