Haymans celebrate 50th anniversary during reception held in New York



XORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Mr. and Mrs. John Hayman, 6398 W. Quaker Road, formerly of Youngstown, were honored during a reception held Aug. 29 at LaGalleria in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event was planned by the couple and their children, John Hayman of West Seneca, N.Y.; Jeffrey Hayman of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; and Tamela Jean Glum of Albany, N.Y. There are two grandchildren in the family.
Mr. Hayman and the former Magdeline Komar were united in marriage Aug. 28, 1954, at St. John's Greek Catholic Orthodox Church in Sharon, Pa. They are members of Orchard Park United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hayman was a speech therapist with Lackawanna City Schools in Lackawanna, N.Y., prior to retiring in 1999. She is a member of Lackawanna Retired Teachers Association.
Mr. Hayman, a U.S. Army veteran, retired in 1988 from his position as guidance counselor with West Seneca Schools. He is a member of West Seneca Teachers Association and the Boston, New York Town Community Concert Band.
