FINANCIAL
YOUNGSTOWN -- Butler Wick Corp. has added Kenneth F. Abell of Howland and Raquel Pacheco of Canfield to its Private Client Group staff.
Abell, a 21-year veteran of the securities industry, was hired as a vice president and senior financial advisor. He is a graduate of Morris Harvey College in Charleston, W.Va., and is working in Butler Wick's Howland office at 425 Niles-Cortland Road. He was previously employed by Merrill Lynch.
Pacheco has a bachelor's degree in finance from Youngstown State University and was named a financial advisor in Butler Wick's home office in City Centre One downtown. Her previous work experience includes five years with Wachovia Securities in Canfield and two years with McDonald Investments in Sandusky.
BANKING
CORTLAND -- Jerry A. Carleton, a Cortland resident, has been appointed to the board of directors for Cortland Bancorp and will serve on the company's executive compensation committee. Carleton has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, both from Kent State University. He was an assistant professor and athletic director at KSU's Trumbull Campus for more than 25 years and has served as professor emeritus and advisor for campus planning and development there since 1995. Carleton also founded Jerry Carleton Enterprises in 1972, a general contracting and development company.
RETAIL
AUSTINTOWN -- Rob Inman, a Williamsfield, Ohio, resident, has joined 84 Lumber Co. as a manager trainee in the Austintown store. He is a Niles McKinley High School graduate.
MANUFACTURING
WARREN -- Donald C. Fox Jr. has joined Peerless Electric as manufacturing manager in the Warren operations. Fox has more than 25 years' experience in the motor business as chief executive and owner of Quality Electric Service Co. A Warren resident, he attended Kent State University and Youngstown State University.
AGRICULTURE
CANFIELD -- Thomas A. Chester has been named president and chief executive of Agland Co-op, Inc., having replaced interim manager Dick Wagoner. Chester had been with Town and Country Co-op in Ashland, where he was a vice president and manager.
