WEATHERSFIELD Concessions

The concessions made by Weathersfield Township police officers and accepted by trustees:
Changing the classification of six part-time officers who are now being paid $8.50 an hour. They will be reclassified as reserve officers, who are not paid.
Uniform allowance payments will be reduced by half starting in January 2005 from $250 a year to $125 a year.
Uniform dry cleaning payments by the township will be cut in half.
Longevity payments will be stopped from Jan. 1, 2005, until Jan. 1, 2006. The payments, based on the years of service, usually run the township $1,000 every six months.
Overtime will be reduced by 50 percent for full-time officers.
Shift differential premiums, which now are not being paid under a grievance issue, will not be pursued while the concession package is in force.
