NFL ROUNDUP Thursday's other games
Jaguars 31, Patriots 0
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Quinn Gray threw three touchdown passes in the final eight minutes and Jacksonville got much better performances from their backups after starting quarterback Byron Leftwich played just three series, going 4-for-8 for 24 yards. Rohan Davey played all but the last series for New England and went 13-for-25 for 104 yards and two interceptions. With Corey Dillon resting, Mike Cloud led New England rushers with 93 yards on 19 carries.
Ravens 27, Giants 17
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- With the exception of a knee injury to seven-time Pro Bowl tackle Jonathan Ogden, everything went right for Baltimore. Kyle Boller threw a touchdown pass and Chris McAlister scored on an interception return. Ogden was hurt with 2:57 remaining in the first quarter when a couple of players fell on him while he was on the ground at the end of a sweep.
Lions 20, Bills 17
DETROIT -- Drew Bledsoe led Buffalo's first-string offense to its only touchdown of the preseason, but three Detroit defensive backs were hurt. Lions safety Brock Marion (bruised right knee), cornerback Fernando Bryant (neck stinger) and cornerback Rod Babers (shoulder) all left the game with injuries. Bryant was hurt on the second play from scrimmage, Marion went down three plays later and Babers was also hurt during the first possession. The Lions (2-2) went ahead for good late in the third quarter when Rick Mirer lobbed a 26-yard TD to David Kircus, giving them a 20-17 lead.
Buccaneers 17, Texans 9
HOUSTON -- Michael Pittman, who got extensive playing time because the Bucs rested starter Charlie Garner, ran for 71 yards on 12 carries and Tampa Bay held Houston to three field goals. Martin Gramatica did little to allay concerns about his kicking. Gramatica was just 3-for-6 from 40 or more yards in preseason and was short and wide right on a 47-yarder in the first quarter.
Cowboys 24, Chiefs 20
IRVING, Texas -- Kansas City's Trent Green completed 7-of-9 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown, then second-stringer Todd Collins went 5-for-5 for 104 yards with a 53-yard TD pass. Pro Bowl safety Jerome Woods had an interception in his return from a hamstring injury and Lawrence Tynes continued his bid to beat out Morten Andersen by making fourth-quarter field goals of 46 and 27 yards. Vinny Testaverde was 4-of-10 for 40 yards.
Cardinals 33, Broncos 21
DENVER -- Neil Rackers kicked four field goals and Josh McCown and Sean King combined to go 14-for-19. Backup Broncos quarterback Danny Kanell seemed to take a step back after a solid start to the preseason, missing badly on several passes. He finished 2-for-8 for 24 yards.
Seahawks 23, Vikings 21
SEATTLE -- Trent Dilfer completed 17-of-20 passes for 211 yards and two first-half touchdowns and Seneca Wallace led a late drive for the winning field goal. Josh Brown kicked a 28-yarder with no time remaining after Wallace led a nine-play, 68-yard drive in the final 2:57. Brown also kicked a 41-yard field goal and a 39-yard try.
Raiders 28, Rams 24
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Rich Gannon threw his first touchdown pass, connecting with Justin Fargas for a 5-yard TD on the Raiders' 13-play, 77-yard opening drive. Third-string St. Louis quarterback Jeff Smoker led two second-half touchdown drives, but the Rams couldn't hold their leads.
