Final Saturday Night Special performance to feature contemporary Celtic ensemble
WARREN -- The final performance of the Saturday Night Special series at the Warren Community Amphitheatre will be at 8 p.m. Saturday.
This performance series has been coordinated by Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, with funding provided by First Place Bank Community Foundation, St. Joseph's Health Care Centers and Trumbull 100. The concert is free.
Music will be provided by Knot Fibb'n, a contemporary Celtic music ensemble from Columbus. Knot Fibb'n features innovative modern arrangements of traditional music.
The ensemble includes flutes, accordion, bodhran and guitar and vocals.
The band appeals to all ages and races and reaches out to traditionalists and those not familiar with Irish music.
"Knot Fibb'n is a group I had an opportunity to hear several years ago, and I've been waiting for the chance to bring them to Trumbull County," said Bobbie Brown, Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County director. "The Saturday Night performance series created that opportunity, and I'm sure our audience will love them."
From tender ballads to exquisite airs, rollicking reels and danceable jigs, it is evident the band members love to perform and play together, she said.
Additional funding for this performance has been provided by the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency that supports arts organizations with tax dollars.
