The city's board of control approved these items Thursday:
An agreement with Genmak Steel that includes a 10-year, 75 percent abatement on real and personal property taxes. The company is moving about 30 jobs from Sharon, Pa., to the Ohio Works Industrial Park and investing $7.76 million on a new building, machinery and inventory on 10 acres in the park.
A settlement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency over 50,000 scrap tires stored on city property. The city has agreed to treat the tires for mosquitos and dispose of them within four months. The city has $80,000 to pay for the disposal. The city also agreed to a $20,163 fine, but can instead apply the money toward paying for scrap tire disposal over the next 10 years.
A contract with Harrington, Hoppe & amp; Mitchell not to exceed $10,000 to help the city prepare an employee handbook and administrative manual.
Severance of $8,906 for Sandra Modarelli, a nurse in the health department who retired June 30.
Severance of $25,287 for Robert Ramhoff, an air pollution engineer in the health department who retired July 30.
A $47,500 performance bond for Covington Clean Inc. of Youngstown.
Payment of $6,796 to K.T. Lyden Construction, of Youngstown, for emergency repair of a catch basin at 280 N. Meridian Road.
Payment of $18,733 to K.T. Lyden for raising manholes and repair of a sewer between the Market Street and South Avenue bridges.
Payment of $4,077 to L.E.C. Inc., of Youngstown, for emergency repair of a catch basin at 1396 Holland St.
