TELEVISION Q & amp;A
Q. We are long-time viewers of "Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street." What is going on in regard to his illness? Will he be back as host of the show again? -- S.T., via e-mail
A. The financial news anchor has been away from his CNBC program for nearly a year. He underwent back surgery in 2003 to relieve chronic pain. In May, Rukeyser announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He also stated that he was taking his doctors' advice and extending his leave of absence from the program. "And as Gen. Douglas MacArthur famously declared as he left the Philippine Islands during World War II, 'I shall return,'" he said. "Wall Street" continues with guest anchors Fridays on CNBC.
Q. Has NBC announced whether it will show the six unaired episodes of the canceled series "Miss Match"? -- R.S, Frisco, Texas
A. Don't hold your breath. NBC pulled the Alicia Silverstone show off the air last fall after a dismal few weeks on the air. Perhaps "Miss Match" will resurface one day on one of the cable channels as did "Keen Eddie" earlier this year. Bravo showed the canceled Fox series in total, including some unaired episodes.
Q. Whatever happened to Eddie Applegate, who played Patty's boyfriend on "The Patty Duke Show"? She went on to do a lot of things but we never heard any more about Eddie. -- C.R., Mesquite, Nev.
A. He turned 30 while playing opposite real teenager Patty Duke for three years on "The Patty Duke Show." When the series ended in 1966, Applegate went on to do guest-starring roles and the 1970 NBC series "Nancy." Since then, he's stayed busy with regional and dinner theater, commercials, voice-overs and a few movies. He reunited with Duke for the 1999 TV movie "The Patty Duke Show: Still Rockin' in Brooklyn Heights," starred in the 2003 release "Exorcism" and spent this summer filming the adventure saga "SFG Power Takes Manhattan."
