Investigators search for car with decal

A nonprofit foundation was created in memory of the couple.
JENNER, Calif. (AP) -- Detectives investigating the slayings of two camp counselors on a remote beach are trying to locate a vehicle seen in the area around the time of the killings, authorities said Tuesday.
Investigators are searching for a dark sedan with tinted windows that appeared to be a 1980s or early '90s model. The rear window may have a black-and-white decal of a "crescent-shaped pollywog-like creature with legs, such as something that could perhaps be referring to evolutionary theory," according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department.
The department released sketches of the vehicle and decal on its Web site and asked the public to contact investigators with information related to the car.
About the couple
The bodies of Lindsay Cutshall, 22, of Fresno, Ohio, and Jason Allen, 26, of Zeeland, Mich., were found in sleeping bags on Fish Head Beach in Jenner, about 80 miles north of San Francisco. Autopsies showed they were each shot in the head at close range. Authorities have yet to identify a motive or suspect.
Cutshall and Allen, who planned to marry in Ohio this month, had spent the summer as whitewater rafting guides at a Christian outdoor adventure camp in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento.
Family and friends of the two have created a nonprofit foundation to promote outdoor activities in memory of the slain couple, who shared a love of the outdoors.
Kids In Creation, which launched its Web site on Tuesday, will provide funding for outdoor programs, youth scholarships to attend such programs, training for outdoor leaders and adventure trips for inner city youth.
The organization has started accepting donations, and will have a board of directors to decide how to distribute the money, said Allen's father, Bob Allen, of Zeeland, Mich.
"We wanted to start a memorial to honor what they were all about," Allen said Tuesday. "Jason wanted to someday to start his own camp so kids could see the beauty of God's creation and get closer to nature."
