WENDELL AUGUST FORGE Free holiday ornaments are available for troops

All that is required is an APO or FPO address.
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Wendell August Forge is offering free commemorative holiday ornaments called "Washington's Prayer at Valley Forge" for U.S. military personnel serving abroad.
The aluminum limited edition ornament depicts George Washington kneeling in prayer at Valley Forge, Pa., during the Revolutionary War.
Friends and families of military personnel overseas who want to take advantage of this offer are invited to visit the Wendell August Forge workshop at 620 Madison Ave. They can either watch their ornament being handcrafted or choose one already made to be sent to their loved one overseas.
Hours
Store hours during which the ornaments are available are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. No purchase is necessary. For more information on the project, call (800) 386-6155.
All that is required to have the ornament sent to military personnel overseas is a personal visit to the Wendell August Forge store and an APO -- Army Post Office -- or FPO -- Fleet Post Office address. Wendell August Forge will mail the ornament along with a special gift card on which requesters can write their personalized holiday wishes.
Also, the gift card has the name of each Wendell Forge employee listed on the back, including Bob Thompson, company controller, whose son, Keith, is serving with the Army's 25th Infantry in Iraq.
Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis, and e-mail or telephone requests will not be accepted. Also, the offer is limited to one ornament per serviceman.
"It is our hope that these ornaments will give military personnel who can't be home for the holidays with family a sense of our support and gratitude, and serve as a reminder that they are in our thoughts and prayers," said Will Knecht, owner of Wendell August Forge.
