Three Austintown residents to be inducted into hall of fame

AUSTINTOWN -- Three township residents are set to be inducted into the Township Hall of Fame by the Austintown Growth Foundation tonight.
Mission of Love Founder Kathleen Price, Township Trustee David Ditzler and the Rev. Stephen Popovich, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Norquest Boulevard, are slated to be inducted into the hall of fame in a ceremony at the Regency House on Mahoning Avenue.
The hall of fame was founded in 1980 by the former Austintown Community Council; this is the first year an induction has been held since 2000. Those inducted into the hall of fame will receive a plaque, a medallion and proclamations honoring them from the county commissioners, the township trustees and U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, of Niles, D-17th. Inductees also will have their pictures hung on the hall of fame wall in township hall.
During tonight's ceremony, the growth foundation also is expected to present Image Awards to Bob and Chuck Eddy's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Building on Mahoning Avenue and the Austintown Library building on Raccoon Road. The awards recognize new construction that improves the appearance of the township.
