TELEVISION Q & amp;A
Q: I've been watching the new program "Wife Swap," and I'd like to know what the families get from the two weeks of trouble and irritation during the swap? Sure, they learn something about themselves, but there has to be more to it. Right? -- A.F., via e-mail
A: It may seem weird, but this is one reality show that doesn't offer money as an incentive. ABC says this about its new reality show: "'Wife Swap' is not a competition or a contest. It is a reality show unlike any other ... and the outcome isn't a cash prize, but a couple's opportunity to rediscover why they love each other and decided to marry in the first place." And, apparently the formula works. The show is in its third season on British TV and is a favorite in France, Australia, Germany and New Zealand.
Q: My mom, sister and I were watching "Charmed" and recognized the actor who portrayed the demon Sirk. But we could not remember the name of the sitcom that he was on. It took place in an auto body shop, and Stacy Keach portrayed the alcoholic, womanizing father. Can you please provide the sitcom name, the characters' names and the names of the actors who portrayed them? -- D.G., via e-mail
A: Zack Ward guest-starred in the Oct. 10 episode of "Charmed" as Sirk/Kevin Casey. In 2000, he co-starred in "Titus," a black comedy based on the stand-up routine of comedian Christopher Titus, who starred in the series. Ward played Chris' dimwitted brother Dave, and Stacy Keach played drunken dad Ken. "Titus" lasted for three seasons on Fox. Serious fans of the holiday staple "A Christmas Story" will remember Ward as Scott Farkus, his first big film break, in 1983.
