For three of every four Ohio high school football players, the season ends this weekend. The rest are hoping it's just getting started.
And some are already laying the ground work for what might happen weeks from now.
Cincinnati St. Xavier's John Osborne kicked a 25-yard field goal with 44 seconds left, giving the Bombers a 13-10 win over Cleveland St. Ignatius last weekend in a game pitting the state's No. 3 and No. 4 teams.
Both teams have already qualified for the postseason, raising the possibility of a rematch.
"In a couple of weeks, our records will both be 0-0 and then you really have to play," St. Ignatius coach Chuck Kyle said. "We'll both see if five weeks from now we can get together again."

Frontier defense
In New Matamoras Frontier's 14-7 first-ever win over Monroe Central, Jake Amos broke off a 72-yard run at the 5:02 mark of the third period to rally the Cougars from a 7-6 deficit. Twenty-one seconds later, Amos intercepted a Dexter Hughes pass to thwart the Seminoles. It was Amos' second interception of the game.
Teammate Mitch Wright also played a key role in the Cougars' defensive scheme by recovering a fumble early in the game and coming up with an interception the fourth in the game with 18.6 seconds remaining.
