KENT -- Joshua Cribbs rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 150 yards and another score to lead Kent State to a 42-16 win over Ohio on Saturday.
Cribbs scored on runs of 58 and 9 yards in 20 carries, and was 18-for-26 passing for 150 yards with a 35-yard touchdown to Najah Pruden. He didn't throw an interception and also averaged 47 yards on two punts.
David Alston added two rushing touchdowns in the first half to help the Golden Flashes (2-6, 1-4 Mid-American Conference) take a 28-10 lead.
The Bobcats (3-6, 1-5) managed only 129 yards rushing on 39 carries and saw both of their quarterbacks struggle. Ryan Hawk was sacked five times and finished 11-of-16 for 97 yards with an interception, while Austen Everson was 4-of-12 for 121 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
Everson scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter to pull Ohio within 14-10 after Cribbs' touchdown pass to Pruden and Alston's 8-yard TD run gave Kent State a 14-3 lead.
Rasheed McClaude then scored on a 1-yard run and Alston added a 3-yard TD run to give the Golden Flashes their 18-point lead at the half.
Cribbs ran for a score in the third and fourth quarters for Kent State.
Marshall 20, UCF 3
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Stan Hill threw a touchdown pass and Chris Royal returned an interception for a score to lead Marshall over Central Florida.
Marshall (5-3, 5-0 MAC) outgained UCF 328-104 in a struggle between the conference's two worst offenses.
UCF (0-8, 0-5) saw the nation's longest losing streak extended to 11 games.
Marshall's Josh Davis had seven catches to move within one of the conference career reception record of 272 set last year by former teammate Darius Watts.
Hill, Marshall's career leader in completion percentage, had trouble in a swirling wind, overthrowing a wide open Davis near the goal line in the first quarter.
Hill started out 2-of-10, was replaced briefly by Graham Gochneaur, then returned to throw a 5-yard TD pass to Brad Bates for a 14-0 halftime lead.
Hill, who finished 15-of-31 for 113 yards, continued to struggle in the second half with two straight incompletions inside the UCF 20, leading to Ian O'Connor's 28-yard field goal for a 17-0 lead.
O'Connor added a 49-yarder in the fourth quarter and is 13-of-15 on field goals this season.
After Marshall turned the ball over on downs inside the UCF 5 in the second quarter, Royal made his national-best sixth interception, picking off Steven Moffett at the 38 and zig-zagging for a touchdown.
UCF had the ball just three times in Marshall territory.
Cent. Michigan 24, W. Michigan 21
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Ronald Budd kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime.
The Broncos (1-7, 0-5 MAC) held a 21-7 lead with 3:14 remaining in regulation, but the Chippewas (3-5, 2-3) scored two touchdowns in the final three minutes to send the game into overtime.
Robert Menchinger missed a 40-yard field goal on Western Michigan's only overtime possession. The Chippewas then drove to the Western 6 before turning to Budd for the game-winner.
