XYOUNGSTOWN -- A reception at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall was held Sept. 25 in honor of James Shina and his bride, the former Janice Tomory, who were married at 2 p.m. that day at St. Columba Cathedral.
Parents of the couple are James Sr. and Susan Tomory, 6980 Tamarack Drive, Hubbard, and James Sr. and Mary Shina, 4464 Woodridge Drive, Austintown.
Monsignor Lawrence Fye officiated, and the couple spent their honeymoon in Aruba.
They live at 1195 Signature Drive, Austintown.
The bride wore a strapless redingote over the princess-style bodice of her satin gown. It was adorned with crystal beads and embroidery, and the skirt extended to a semicathedral train.
Her sister, Jennifer Gilliland, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Stephanie Patalon, Melissa Zavada and Krissy Thurik. They wore plum-colored gowns.
Jason Shina performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Jeffrey Lawrence; James Tomory Jr., the bride's brother; and Joseph Bernard. Ushers were Seth Kenney, David Yargo and Bryan Terlecky.
Mrs. Shina received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and master's from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa. She is a dietitian with Community Action Agency in Lisbon.
Her husband holds a bachelor's degree from YSU and graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown. He is a resident physician at Forum Health.
