ELECTION '04 Celebrities to go door-to-door in Girard to urge people to vote

GIRARD -- If you live in this city, you may get a knock on your door Sunday by an Emmy or Oscar winner.
Celebrities visiting the Mahoning Valley on Sunday will still hold a community meeting at noon at Youngstown State University's Kilcawley Center.
But instead of going to the Yankee Kitchen in Vienna, the celebrities will knock on doors in Girard at 2 p.m.
Among those going door-to-door include Marisa Tomei, Hillary Swank, Julianna Margulies, Chad Lowe and Matt Dillon.
The celebrities are coming to the Valley for the second time this month to point out how the Bush administration has adversely affected Ohio. The event is organized by Bring Ohio Back, an Ohio-based nonprofit political group.
Bon Jovi to perform
Also, singer Jon Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform tonight at a rally with U.S. Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, in Warren's Courthouse Square. Those going to the rally can get into the gates beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Kerry will speak about 8:45 p.m. Bon Jovi is expected to perform a few songs and then introduce Kerry.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights activist who unsuccessfully ran twice for the Democratic presidential nomination, will be at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman Street, at 5 p.m. today.
He is participating in a "Vote or Die Rally."
The event also includes a "Phatest Ride" car contest and free food. A prize will be given for the best vehicle.
