Fire destroys house, kills man near Cincy

SOUTH LEBANON, Ohio (AP) -- A man died in a fire that destroyed his two-story home, and a firefighter was injured trying to battle the blaze.
The Montgomery County coroner's office identified the victim as James A. Taulbee, 49, of South Lebanon. An autopsy to determine the cause of death was planned for today.
Warren County arson investigators and the state fire marshal were investigating the fire, which was reported about 1 p.m. Wednesday. Fire officials said the first floor of the house was fully engulfed when the first crew arrived.
The victim, who was the only person in the house, was found slumped against the door, said South Lebanon fire Chief Gary Arnold.
Arnold said a Deerfield Township firefighter injured his knee trying to break in the front door and was taken to Bethesda North Hospital. Seven fire departments helped fight the blaze.
South Lebanon is about 20 miles north of Cincinnati.
