WESTERN PA. Weapons, other charges are filed against couple

The case began with a report of a man being chased in Sugar Grove Township.
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Police said the arrest of a man and woman from Kinsman Road on weapons and other charges in Sugar Grove Township led to the discovery of drugs and drug paraphernalia at the man's home.
Brian D. Watt, 39, and Margaret Gessler, 41, who live at separate addresses on Kinsman Road in West Salem Township, are both charged by Hempfield Township police with carrying firearms without a license.
Watt faces an additional charge of making terroristic threats, and Gessler also was charged with possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana.
Police were called
Hempfield police, who also serve Sugar Grove Township, said they arrested the couple around 7 a.m. Sunday after getting a call about a man being chased by Watt and Gessler.
Police caught up with the couple after their car had a flat tire on Methodist Road.
A search of the car turned up a handgun under the seat. Gessler had a handgun and some suspected marijuana in her possession, police said.
Hempfield police then notified Greenville authorities that Watt had drugs and paraphernalia at his home.
Greenville police obtained a search warrant Sunday and said they found several 4-foot-tall marijuana plants as well as a large amount of suspected processed marijuana, a dehydrator, plant food and other illegal items used in growing and processing marijuana.
Watt and Gessler are in Mercer County jail on the Hempfield charges. Greenville police said they planned to file charges today against Watt for the manufacture and possession of marijuana for delivery.
