The Church of God, 4125 Lanterman Road, Youngstown, is sponsoring a free lunch for those 55 and older from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday.Meals will be served on a first-come basis as long as quantity lasts.
Howland SCOPE will hold a luncheon and magic show from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Those celebrating a birthday or anniversary during September or October will receive a special gift. Cost is $5 per person, and registration is required by calling (330) 609-7806 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. A trip is planned for Nov. 22-25 to the New York City Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Cost is $450 per person, and the public is welcome.
Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, bridge and follies at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, drawing class at 8:30 a.m., exercise and oil painting at 10, computer class at 10 and noon, blood pressure screening at noon, chorus at 1 p.m. and digital club club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, outing to Spinnakers at 10:30, tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m., and yoga and 500 cards at 1; Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., Hugs and Stitches Sewing Group at 10, blood pressure screening at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., square dancing at 1 and line dancing at 3; and Friday, exercise at 10 a.m. and Halloween party at 1:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by Monday. Little Joe will entertain and refreshments will be served. The center has applications for the SBC telephone discount program of $12.38 per month for eligible applicants.
