South Range wallops Western Reserve, 45-7
Jackson-Milton rolled past Lowellville, 40-14.
BERLIN CENTER -- Ben Johnston scored twice on short runs as the South Range High football team defeated Western Reserve, 45-7, in Friday's Inter-County League game.
Joe Marino and John Less scored defensive touchdowns for the Raiders (8-1, 4-1).
Tony Darkadakis and Kris Davis also tallied for Range, which gained 323 of its 369 total yards on 52 plays.
Johnston, a senior tailback, rushed 19 times for 104 yards while Darkadakis, a senior fullback, added 101 yards on 10 carries.
Marino, a senior defensive end, blocked a punt and fell on its in the end zone, while Less returned a fumble 48 yards for a touchdown.
South Range also had 46 yards passing on four of six.
Matt Cowher scored from two yards out for Reserve, which managed 160 total yards. Tailback Vince Barbone rushes six times for 20 yards for the Blue Devils (3-6, 0-5).
Jackson-Milton 40Lowellville 14
LOWELLVILLE -- Senior Adam Keck ran for four touchdowns and 225 of Jackson-Milton's 343 rushing yardage for the Blue Jays (3-6, 2-3).
The game was tied, 6-6, until Keck scored from five yards out in the second quarter. His 10-yard run gave Jackson-Milton a 6-0 lead and John Speziale's 14-yard touchdown pass from Rich Schrader tied the game early.
Jackson-Milton gained 343 yards on the ground and 45 in the air. Keck, a running back, amassed his yardage on 26 carries.
Lowellville (2-7, 1-5) had 220 yards on the ground and 102 via passing.
Junior running back Lucas Gonzalez picked up 103 yards on 18 carries, while Max Bartlett had three catches for 43 yards. The junior fullback also ran 41 yards for a touchdown.
Schrader, Lowellville's senior quarterback, completed six of 12 passes for 102 yards.
