Renowned chef's dinner to benefit shelter



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Internationally renowned executive chef Matthew Medure of Matthew's in Jacksonville, Fla., will present Dining for Good Living, a five-course meal of culinary pleasures, on Nov. 5 at The Villa Banquet Facility.
Proceeds will benefit the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County.
Medure will be joined by five other chefs, to offer a complete dining experience for all five senses. Each course will be matched with wines from the Charles Krug Winery.
Special guest for the evening will be vintner Marc Mondavi, a third-generation member of one of Napa Valley's legendary wine-making families. As co-proprietor of the Charles Krug Winery, Mondavi leads the wine-making team and is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the CK Mondavi brand.
Medure's restaurant, Matthew's, is in the historic San Marco district. Before opening Matthew's, Medure spent six years as executive chef of The Grill at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. He is credited with bringing the Ritz-Carlton the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award.
While executive chef at The Grill, Medure created an internationally renowned cooking school.
Organizing the operations of the event will be Peter Medure, owner and President of Medure Food Group located in Cranberry, Pa., along with Medure's Catering of New Castle.
