Coaches, professionalscommended for actions
Fanfare,
At a recent football game at Poland High School, a veteran referee collapsed on the field. Home team coach Paul Hulea didn't waste a second. He ran out onto the field and called for medical help. Coach Hulea's decisive leadership helped this official get quick treatment that helped make his hospital recovery a success.
I also commend Niles visiting team coach Phil Annarella for his patience and concern, even though the game was delayed for half an hour.
Because of team physician Armand Minotti, a cardiologist, and a nurse in the crowd who also helped, and the quick-thinking ambulance attendants, this football official was quickly hospitalized and after three days of treatment is recovering well.
The coaches and medical professionals set a great example to the teams and the public on the right way to react in the game of life.
