BOARDMAN -- Brian T. Bisson, vice president of engineering for Aqua Ohio, Inc., was recently recognized by the Water Management Association of Ohio for demonstrating leadership and knowledge of the water supply industry. WMAO, an organization promoting understanding, conservation and the multifaceted use of Ohio's water resources, presented Bisson its R.L. Livingston Ireland Award. Based in Boardman, Aqua Ohio is Ohio's largest investor-owned water utility serving nearly 300,000 people in eight counties.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Roger Lindgren, president and chief operating officer of V & amp;M Star in Youngstown, and Patrick G. Tatom, president and chief executive of WCI Steel in Warren, have been appointed by Ohio Gov. Bob Taft to serve on the Ohio Steel Council.
Lindgren joined V & amp;M about 18 months ago after serving as president of another V & amp;M company in Houston. He has a bachelor's degree in metallurgic engineering and a master's degree in business administration, both from the University of Minnesota.
Tatom joined WCI at its inception in 1988, coming from LTV Steel, where he had held several sales and marketing management positions. A graduate of Marietta College with a degree in business and marketing, he was named to WCI's top job in January, having served as executive vice president and chief operating officer since 2001.
MERCER, Pa. -- Anna McCandless of Lake Township in Mercer County has been named the 2004 "Union Woman of the Year" by the Pennsylvania Labor History Society. An employee at T & amp;B Reznor in Mercer, Pa. and member of United Steelworkers of America since 1979, McCandless has been active in the union since 1986.
She serves on the Mercer County Central Labor Council and on the Pa. AFL-CIO Community Services Committee and is a delegate and executive board member of the National Executive Board of the National Coalition of Labor Union Women.
VIENNA -- John Litman of Gibson-Governor Insurance Agency in Vienna has been named a PaceSetter agent by State Auto Insurance, Columbus. The company said its PaceSetter classification recognizes its top independent agencies.
