XYOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Kelvin Turner officiated at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 18 as Kody May and Wendell Parrish, both of 2719 Volney Road, were married at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
An evening reception was held at St. Charles Church Father Haidet Hall in Boardman.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Johnson, 2660 Volney Road, and the late Alfred May, and the groom is a son of Wendell Parrish of St. Louis and Patricia Edwards Parrish of Florissant, Mo.
The bride's Victorian-style gown was fashioned with an off-the-shoulder neckline, beaded bodice and a full skirt with a detachable lace train.
Champagne-colored gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Kelly May-Caldwell and Kayla May, and the bridesmaids, Bevin Parrish, Brandy Edwards, Ashley Peace, Monique Peace, Tamara Tubbs and Andrea Gibson. Junior bridesmaid was Meagan Peace, candlelighters were Adrianne Peace and Tiera McDowell, and flower girls were Alicia Tarpley and Marlena Fields.
Best men were Ernest Bell and Jason Bonds, and groomsmen were Devon Johnson, Justin Peace, Paul Peace, Jermaine Davis, James Swerengen, Robert Robinson and Anthony Parrish. Broom bearer was Austin Williams, and ring bearer was John Peace III.
The bride, a licensed practical nurse at Austinwoods Nursing Center in Austintown, graduated from Choffin School of Practical Nursing. The groom earned a degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University and is a technician with Blue Grass Satellite in Akron.
