James 60th celebrated in South Carolina

XBLUFFTON, S.C. -- A surprise party was held Oct. 16 in the Riverview Room at River Bend, Sun City Hilton Head, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. James Sr., 3 Humbert Court, who were observing their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's children and their spouses, Donald E. Jr. and Suzanne M. James of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and David and Sallie Bohn of Leland, N.C. There are two grandchildren in the family.
The former Mary Seefred and Mr. James were married Oct. 18, 1944, in Olathe, Kan. They lived in Niles before moving to Bluffton in 1997.
Mrs. James was a secretary for former Niles Mayor William Thorpe and retired in 1983 from the Ohio Civil Service Department.
Mr. James retired in 1986 after working for Security Dollar Bank, National City Corp. and James Dairy.
