Howland ends slump against Struthers



HOWLAND -- The Howland High football team (6-3, 3-3 Metro Athletic Conference) snapped a three-game losing streak Friday with a 31-6 victory over Struthers.
Matt Kukura caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Mike Duponty in the second quarter for the Wildcats (1-8, 0-5).

MASSILLON -- The Spartans had nearly as much total yardage (222-221) but still dropped to 0-9, 0-6 Federal League.
After battling to a scoreless tie at the break, the Polar Bears (6-3, 3-3) got on the board when Corey Irwin returned an interception 35 yards in the third quarter.
James Craven scored the other Jackson touchdown on a 35-yard run in the final quarter.
K.T. Moses ran 16 times for 56 yards and caught two passes for 42 yards to lead the Spartans.
Nate Tascik rushed 10 times for 24 yards and quarterback Joe Bako ran four times for 13 yards for Boardman.
Bako completed nine of 25 passes for 122 yards.
