Making a joyful noise
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Make A Joyful Noise Concert, sponsored by Protestant Family Service, will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 6. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewild Ave. Refreshments will be served. An offering will benefit the agency's ministry.
'Yes' celebration
EAST PALESTINE -- Grace Lutheran Church, at Grant and Walnut Streets, will celebrate "Yes" Sunday on Reformation on Oct. 31. There will be a fellowship breakfast for everyone at 9:30 a.m. Worship, with Communion and music, will be at 10:45 a.m. Afterward, the proposed budget for 2005 will be discussed and acted upon at the congregation's annual meeting, and there will be election of four members of congregational council.

WARREN -- Friendship Baptist Church, 1954 Brier St., will celebrate the first anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Leon Thompson, and the first appreciation of he and first lady Terah Thompson, at 4 p.m. Oct. 31. The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Larry W. Howard of the Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church of Cleveland, accompanied by his choirs and congregation.

Concert at Chestnut Ridge
HUBBARD -- Chestnut Ridge Church of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Road, presents Mark Trammell along with vocalists Joseph Smith and Eric Phillips at 6 p.m. Oct. 31. Trammell has won multiple awards as a singer and producer and has been a member of the gospel quartets, The Kingsmen, The Cathedrals and Gold City. Pugyao set to speak
BOARDMAN -- Guest speaker Nard Pugyao will be at the Holiday Inn at 6:30 p.m. next Saturday, to share stories of his life. Wycliffe missionary Richard Roe came to Pugyao's village of Dibagat in the Philippines in 1956 and contributed to Pugyao's tribe by teaching the written alphabet and bringing primers in Isnag, which enabled Pugyao and other village children to read in their own language for the first time. After high school, Pugyao knew he wanted to serve God in the mission field. He received aviation training in the United States, then Wycliffe Bible Translators assigned him to the Philippines, helping to fly missionaries and supplies to remote villages. His greatest reward was delivering the first 500 New Testaments back to his own village in 1982. For free tickets to the banquet, call (330) 506-1499.
