Dinner party held to celebrate Morella jubilee

XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Morella, 9906 Unity Road, were guests of honor during a dinner party Oct. 23 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown for the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosting the party were the honorees' children and spouses, Sam Jr. and Deb Morella of Streetsboro; Rozanne and Bill Palm of Champion; Alan and Diana Morella of Memphis, Tenn.; Linda Wiland of Tallmadge; Diane and Johnny Donofio of Petersburg; and Mike and Deb Morella of Findlay. The family circle also includes 13 grandchildren.
The couple also marked their anniversary with trips to Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Portland, Maine.
The former Dorothy "Dot" Shaffernocker and Mr. Morella were married Oct. 23, 1954, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown.
Retiring in 1994, Mrs. Morella worked at J.C. Penney at Southern Park Mall in Boardman.
Mr. Morella, who retired in 1987, was a staff manager at American General Insurance Co., Youngstown.
