So many ugly cars, so many rides to pimp. The automobile renovation series "Pimp My Ride" (9 p.m., MTV) returns for a new season. It transforms participants' hunks of junk into styling mobiles, complete with custom details such as fish tanks and even a mini basketball court.
On "Desperate Housewives" (9 p.m., ABC), Susan's mean old neighbor tries to blackmail her about the fire. Poor Susan may be an arsonist, but she'd never stoop so low as to blackmail someone.
Homeowners who dress up their dwellings for Halloween are profiled on "Extreme Halloween" (9 p.m. HGTV).
"The Surreal Life" (10 p.m., VH1) gets even more, well, surreal, as Charo, Flavor Flav, Bridgette Nielsen and the other housemates are called upon to work the graveyard shift in "Haunted Hospital." Their challenge is to "cleanse the spirits," guided by Larry Montz, a psychologist of the paranormal.
