Former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star and Hollywood kid Tori Spelling will poke fun at herself for an NBC sitcom.
The actress has signed a talent deal with the network and will play a version of herself in a single-camera comedy. The project has a script commitment from the network, according to the Hollywood trade papers.
Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler ("Murphy Brown," "Tucker") will write the pilot script, which will follow Spelling as she plays out a version of her pre-marriage life as an actress, celebrity and daughter of legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling (she married actor Charlie Shanian in July). They will also serve as executive producers, while Spelling will get a co-executive producer credit.
Spelling played Donna Martin for the entire 10-season run of "Beverly Hills, 90210," which her father produced. She recently co-starred in The WB's sitcom "The Help" and in the Hallmark Channel movie "A Carol Christmas."
Her credits also include "Scream 2," "Trick" and the camp-classic TV movies "Co-ed Call Girl" and "Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?"
