Giant Eagle buys building in Boardman
BOARDMAN -- Giant Eagle is using an affiliate to buy its store at 478 Boardman-Canfield Road for $4.9 million. Documents recording the sale were filed this week at the Mahoning County auditor's office.
Rob Borella, a spokesman for the Pittsburgh-based grocery chain, said company officials decided to buy the land, parking lot and building from an affiliate of Simon Property Group of Indianapolis, which had owned the site. Borella said Giant Eagle leases some of its locations and owns others.
Echo Real Estate Services, a company affiliated with Giant Eagle, will serve as property manager for the Boardman location. Giant Eagle used a legal entity called Echo Partners 2002 to buy the property.
