Networks join forces, open health center

SHARON, Pa. -- Primary Health Network and Sharon Regional Health System have joined forces to open the Elm Avenue Health Center.
The location is a medical office building owned by Sharon Regional that Primary Health will lease for the offices of surgeons Gene Marcelli and Ravi Sachdeva, who recently joined Primary Health full time to provide surgical services under the name PHN Surgical Associates.
The Elm Avenue Health Center also will offer psychiatric and counseling services several days per week.
through Sharon Regional's Behavioral Health Services.
Expansion to come
Plans call for additional primary-care physicians to work at the site as well as some specialty clinics in areas such as orthopedics and endocrinology.
Sharon Regional already is providing full-time laboratory services at Primary Health's Sharon Medical Group on Roemer Boulevard in Farrell so patients can have blood work done on site.
"In every community where PHN provides services, we enjoy strong partnerships with area hospitals," said Jack Laeng, PHN executive director.
PHN has 214 full- and part-time employees, including 64 health-care providers in various fields.
Sharon Regional, Mercer County's largest hospital and largest employer with more than 1,700 employees, offers a full range of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services.
