LIBERTY
Oct. 12
Vandalism: Police discovered a cruiser's taillight reflector had been damaged while the vehicle was in a driveway in the 1100 block of Leslie Lane.
Theft: A Youngstown man reported a $1,000 single-door cooler missing from Katie's Korner, 3622 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A Youngstown man told police that, after inspecting an apartment in the 3000 block of Northgate Avenue, he discovered a $452 air conditioning unit had been removed.
Breaking and entering: An employee at United Methodist Church, 189 Church Hill Road, came to work and discovered someone had removed a bathroom window before breaking in. The worker also noticed the burglar gained entry to a church office through a sliding window and forced open a filing cabinet.
Oct. 14
Theft: A Girard woman noticed her purse and various personal papers were taken from her car while she was at Long John Silver's, 3560 Belmont Ave.
Recovered property: Someone found a discarded 8 mm camcorder near a trash bin at Liberty Community Church on Tibbetts-Wick Road.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A man in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street said he loaned his 1999 Chrysler Sebring to a Youngstown woman who failed to return it.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 10 block of Holly Drive told police that, after an argument, someone pushed on her front door and broke its locking mechanism. Damage was estimated at $150.
Oct. 15
Criminal damage: An employee at DePizzo Foods Inc., 306 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, reported some juveniles threw a rock and broke a vehicle's rear window, causing $200 in damage.
Criminal damage: A Girard man discovered three "No Trespassing" signs posted at the dead-end of Lucretia Drive had been damaged.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 20 block of Colonial Drive reported that, in an attempt to break in, someone broke a garage door window.
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle near state Route 193 and Belgrade Avenue for having suspicious license plates, police arrested a 22-year-old Youngstown man. He was wanted on a warrant from Cuyahoga County charging him with felonious assault. Police also charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers say they found a suspected crack pipe.
Oct. 16
Breaking and entering: An employee at Three Flags Inc., 1347 W. Liberty St., discovered someone had driven a vehicle over a front-gate wire to gain entry to the property and load onto the vehicle two 500-pound statues. Each was valued at $4,000.
Oct. 17
Criminal damage: A Vienna woman noticed someone had tossed paint onto her vehicle parked in the 100 block of Leslie Lane.
Oct. 18
Theft: A man noticed $800 had been taken from a dresser drawer at his home in the 300 block of Liberty Street.
Burglary: Two 38-year-old Girard men surrendered to police and each were charged with one count of burglary after a man in the 40 block of Marla Lane reported someone had broken into his residence and taken property.
Arrest: After receiving a report of someone driving a stolen car near a Speedway gas station, 4210 Belmont Ave., police arrested a Warren man, 48, after they determined the car had been stolen. The suspect was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia after a suspected crack pipe was found on the car's dashboard.
Oct. 19
Breaking and entering: Police discovered someone broke into Crishal's Belmont Flowers, 3238 Belmont Ave., through a sky light and removed an undetermined amount of change from a register.
Theft: A man reported seven Game Cube games had been removed from his residence in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
GIRARD
Oct. 17
Burglary: A man discovered his wife's purse missing from a kitchen table at their home in the 300 block of East Liberty Street. The woman reported she later found a back door open.
Criminal damage: A Girard woman told police another woman had heard someone banging and kicking an apartment door in the 10 block of Trumbull Court. The inside molding near the door was loosened.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Girard man at a residence in the 900 block of North Avenue on a domestic-violence charge after his girlfriend alleged that, during an argument, he threw an ashtray at her, struck her in the left kidney area and pulled her hair at her residence in the 80 block of Smithsonian Street. The suspect said she tossed an ashtray at him and kicked him.
Burglary: A man noticed someone had broken into his home in the 10 block of South Davis Street through a front living room window. A Sony PlayStation 2 game system and some PlayStation games were missing.
Assault: A man in the 100 block of Belgrade Avenue told police he had been assaulted while asleep at a residence in the 10 block of South Davis Street. The victim said he saw someone standing over him before being struck in the head with a beer bottle.
Theft/criminal damage: A man in the 100 block of Hillcrest Avenue reported someone pried open a sliding window to break into his vehicle before removing two prescriptions containing 90 tablets each of Vicodin and Valium. A checkbook and several checks also were missing.
Breaking and entering: A man reported his car broken into at his residence in the 600 block of Joan Avenue. A car stereo and 40 CDs were taken. The vehicle's dashboard also was damaged.
Property damage: A man reported someone tossed a rock through his vehicle's windshield while the car was parked in front of his home in the 300 block of East Kline Street.
