DIVISION I GOLF Team races are wide open

COLUMBUS (AP) -- Marysville's Carly Truitt shoots for a three-peat, while just about everything else is wide open at the boys and girls Division I state golf tournaments Friday and Saturday at Ohio State.
The top two boys teams and the first four girls team finishers from 2003 did not qualify for the tournament.
No area teams or individuals qualified for the tournament.
Truitt shot 74-75 for a 149 a year ago at the Gray Course, tying with Dayton Oakwood's Emma Jandel before winning on the second playoff hole. After competing as an individual in the past, Truitt brings her team for the first time to the state tournament, while Jandel qualified as an individual this time around.
The 2001 team champion, Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit, will battle for the team title with upstart Dublin Jerome, in its first year as a high school but buoyed by the addition of several players who played last year for fourth-place Dublin Coffman.
In the boys competition, only three teams are back from last year's team competition: third-place Cincinnati Moeller, seventh-place Strongsville and Hudson, which was 11th. Upper Arlington, which has won a state record 16 boys golf titles, is expected to be a strong contender.
No individuals who finished in the top 10 a year ago are back. Cleveland St. Ignatius' Dan Rush had the lowest score, a 66, during last week's qualifying at the district level.
