ALCS NOTEBOOK | From Yankee Stadium

Streaking clubs: Boston's 4-2 win in Game 6 marked the third time in postseason history that both teams have won three straight games in a series. The Red Sox and New York Yankees joined the 2003 Chicago Cubs and Florida Marlins and the 1996 Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals to accomplish the feat -- all in league championship series. Boston has done it by becoming the first team in postseason history to rally from a 0-3 deficit. No major league team has ever won a seven-game series after losing the first three games.
Slump-breaker: Mark Bellhorn swatted away his postseason slump with one big swing. The Boston second baseman hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning off Jon Lieber in the Red Sox's 4-2 win over the New York Yankees in Game 6. "It's pretty big for me," Bellhorn said. "My first time involved in something like this, it makes you try a little bit harder sometimes." Bellhorn, signed as a free agent last winter, entered the at-bat 3-for-21 in the series after grounding into a double play with the bases loaded in the second inning.
