Approved legislation allowing the city controlling board to enter into a $129,557 contract with VEC Systems Inc. of Hubbard to replace the roof on the municipal building. The rubber roof has a 20-year guarantee. The price includes new gutters and downspouts. Work will begin a week after the contract is signed, said service director Al Patrick.
Authorized the use of city water, sanitary sewer and electricity for a proposed $3.5 million motel on Commerce Lane in Hubbard Township. MK International of West Middlesex, Pa., wants to construct a 65-room motel on three acres behind McDonald's Restaurant near the intersection of state Route 7/U.S. Route 62 and Interstate 80. The proposal calls for the creation of 15 to 20 jobs.
