AUCTIONS
XNorth Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima, will hold an auction of quilts, wall hangings, gift baskets, donations from Merchants, a rototiller and other items beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church hall. A food stand will open at 4:30.
BAZAARS
XGustavus Federated Church, Routes 87 and 193, will hold a fall bazaar from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Turkey dinners will be served from 1:30 to 6 at a cost of $8 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12 and free to preschool children.
XTod Avenue United Methodist Women, 155 Tod Ave. N.W., Warren, will hold a bazaar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Featured will be a variety of shops offering everything from attic treasures to special gifts, and homemade crafts. Cinnamon rolls and soups will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are required for a turkey dinner to be served from 4 to 6 p.m. For reservations call (330) 393-3856 or (330) 847-0672. Patrons 18 or older can register for a drawing for a handcrafted clock.
BINGO-CARD PARTIES
XThe Parish Pastoral Council of Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will hold a card and bingo party and fashion show at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cardinal Mindzenty Hall. Admission is $4. Refreshments will be served.
CRAFT SHOWS
XA quilt and craft show will be held by the Quilting Angels of Austintown from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Stacey Pavilion in Austintown Park, Kirk Road. There will be vendors, a Chinese auction and refreshments.displays
XCanfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., will display lap quilts and throws from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday through Nov. 1 that will be offered to wounded servicemen and women returning to Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. FESTIVALS
XSt. Stephen of Hungary Church, 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will hold a parish harvest festival from 11:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3. Security is provided, and there will be band music for listening and dancing, ethnic foods, and Hungarian and American pastries. FASHION SHOWS
XSt. Christine Home and School Association will present its "Fall Fiesta of Fashions" fashion show and brunch Sunday at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Also featured will be guest speaker Sis Soller, a Chinese auction, a raffle and door prizes. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and admission is $22. Tickets can be purchased by calling (330) 799-4709.
FUND-RAISERS
XDarryl Strawberry, former New York Yankee, and his wife, Charisse, will be keynote speakers at Gateway Rehabilitation Center's annual "Hope Has a Home" gala Dec. 2 at the Hilton Pittsburgh. Strawberry will share is experiences with addiction, cancer, incarceration and recovery. He and his wife, an addiction treatment professional, serve as ministers at Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Fla.
