The latest filing on Friday was unexpected as hospital officials had said in recent weeks that they weren't considering Chapter 11 to deal with the hospital's oft-reported financial problems. The petition revealed little, saying only that the hospital has between $1 million and $10 million in debt and assets within the same range. The hospital must file a more detailed petition by Nov. 1.
